The Therapy - there are two entirely different therapies using Conscious Hypnosis:
Suggestion Therapy - this form of therapy is the most publicised, known for its success rate in helping people to stop smoking. It makes use of the heightened sub-conscious awareness to positive suggestions in order to change bad habits for good ones, such as nailbiting, changing eating habits, and it can help with pre-test nerves, exams, driving/academic tests, relaxation, confidence boosting, sports performance and hypnosis for childbirth. This therapy usually only requires one or two sessions with perhaps a booster later on.
Analytical Therapy - which is used to discover causes of problems where psychological and emotional forces are involved. Hypnoanalysis can be summarised briefly as the doctrine of cause and effect : every effect (the symptom) must have a cause. Hypnoanalysis reveals and thus removes the cause, and consequently relieves the symptom. Emotional problems respond particularly well to hypnoanalysis and one can be fairly confident that a release will be obtained usually within 8-12 sessions of analysis.
